I saw this today & had to have it because I couldn't figure out what it was! My first thought was a Jewish Menorah (but 1 candle holder should be taller than others, right?), then I thought something spanish families could put their statues in, in their front yard & then I thought something for the fireplace?
But when I got it home my girlfriend immediately said it was a old gas heater?
It does have a tube that looks like gas could be pumped into it - but those little candle like flames wouldn't warm very much, right? BUT, there is a dragonfly in the top of the front of it that makes me think art deco/art nouveau - could this be that old?
    Maybe a Christmas display piece?
Google image didn't show anything similar either.
Can anyone tell what this is/was?

As always I thank you and I appreciate all the help here!

If you look at the 4th & 5th photos you will see it's cracked, but it goes back together perfectly. What is best way to repair it? Liquid Steel?

About 2 ft tall give or take - I can't find my measuring tape & guess I'm going to have to buy a new one (didn't realize how much I used it till I couldn't find it these last few days)

It had a mirror that goes in space behind the "candle" shaped pieces - would a radiant heater have that?

Not even remotely like a menorah…

Yes I know - but at first glance standing above it and seeing the candle like projections + the 'roof' that looks like how Cubans display (and protect) their Madonna's, Jesus's etc - it did make me think for a moment that it could be a menorah.

A lovely piece of Art Nouveau. I think the "candleholders" held ceramic bars or the like. It may have been electric.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I wonder whether the mirror was meant to reflect light somehow? Maybe there were shades coming out of the "candle" areas, and emitted light?

Very unusual -- I love the dragonfly design!
