Hi all, I have 3 pieces I need some help with.
    any information appreciated.
    thanks for looking:)
#1 is a sterling ring from Mexico, trying to find out what kind of stone is used for the face. It is marked Mexico 925 GD-01 which I understand to mean is from Guadalajara by a silversmith with the last name starting with 'D' and the first one registered with a last name starting with 'D'. As there is no list it is unlikely I'll find out who, but maybe someone will recognize this:)
Is there a name for this type of ring? Face ring?

#2 silver bracelet, marked sterling +W+ - I think I've seen this mark before but can't find it. I forgot about this piece but while looking around today I found a pair of 10K gold screw-on earrings with the same mark, no maker listed.

#3 is a bracelet that is signed Daniels on the back, not sure if this is sterling. Is the stone turquoise? The piece on the front is 1 1/2" x 1 3/4"

They call them mask rings, but face ring would be better imo.
Aztec mask ring is another term, which is not perfect either, because many of them are Mixtec or Zapotec inspired. But people know the Aztecs, and not the others.;)
And as Holly said, probably obsidian. Some of these masks are glass though.
The floral mark is interesting too, I'll see if I can find either mark.

The stone on the bracelet looks the real deal, so turquoise.:)

    thanks pearls:)

Wonderful, thank-you AJ:) I wondered about glass but thought stone because of the red/rust colours in it.
Glad to hear it is turquoise:)

thanks for looking AJ:) The +W+ I'm sure I've seen or maybe had a piece with it before, will keep looking:)

Should I try and polish the bracelet with the turquoise?

A gentle polish to make the designs stand out is all I would do.
    The style is Modernist.

No doubt you guys know this already, but technically obsidian is actually glass: volcanic glass. Fun fact.

There was a +W+ mark here in just the past few weeks, I am certain.

The ring has more marks than I usually see on Mexico pieces. I did a little snooping online but couldn't find the mark. Seems to have a decent amount of silver in it. Nice finds!

Here’s the answer on the +w+ makers mark…

Trayling and Waters. This firm was started in 1919 by Alex J. Waters. In the following year Waters took in Albert Joseph Trayling as a partner, but Trayling's health was not good so he retired and sold his interest to Waters in 1924. The firm never had a great interest in medallic work but in the 1920's was responsible for a great number of medals, particularly for lower mainland sporting groups. Their trade mark is +W+ (plus sign, W, plus sign). Their only jeweller's pieces are dated 1792, an allusion to the date that Capt. George Vancouver arrived at this coast to survey. Trayling & Waters were closed by the receivers on November 2, 1987.”

Wow, thank-you so much Geemah:) I was wondering if it was a Canadian company. Your post is making me remember I have a award/medal, for baseball if I'm remembering correctly, from a team in Vancouver with the mark - now I just have to find the medal:)
