Featured Native American (Indian) or Southwest(?) Unusual piece

I swear that I've seen this depiction somewhere, but can't seem to find it for the life of me. Anyone know the technical name for this? Based on the marks and design I'd assume its American Indian or perhaps Southwest or Mexican? If anyone could attribute the mark I'd be eternally grateful as well!

 

I think Mexico, with a piece of jasper.
It's a bolo tie without the cords.
Just my opinion.

 

That makes sense, any idea on a name on the form? Or what its supposed to be?

 

It almost looks like a dog or a goat. Yeah, maybe a goat.
It's quite strange!

 

Whatever it is it can't be claimed as Native American with the Sterling and 2 oak leaves as the maker's mark. Unfortunately I have not been able to find a maker's name associated with the mark.

 

@Generic_Lad, Can you polish the back a bit....it looks like there's writing on there other than the "sterling" mark and oak leaves, but it's too tarnished to see clearly.....thank you!

 

It looks like some sort of spirit being. Maybe if you search Native American petroglyphs or rock art.

The sterling mark and the maker's mark with feathers or leaves look NA, but I couln't find it.
The marks aren't Mexican, although the dangles could be Mexican, but they are pretty generic.
The stampwork looks Navajo, which doesn't mean this is definitely Navajo or even NA.

The creature/spirit being could be from either side of the border, but not far into Mexico imo.
I suspect this depiction of our mystery being already existed in the Americas before the introduction of goats.

You have to admit, it kinda looks like a two tailed goat with those little nubby horns and hooves on the front "feet"........or maybe it's a chihuahua?
It does look a bit petroglyph-y.

 

Isn’t that one of the nazca images?

 

The South American one has a smaller head and longer arms. From Colombia I think, rather than Nazca.
