When I got this, years ago, I thought it was for drying field corn, for animal feed. Then recently I was informed it was for hanging meat in a smoker...which it certainly may be. I have seen ear-corn dryers since acquisition; they're more a vertical pattern, made of sheet metal with longer sharpened flat spines on both sides of a vertical beam.
So I once again have unresolved confusion over a simple thing...I'll be grateful for a definitive answer, an' thanks for lookin'!

It has spiky ends, otherwise it looks like a tie hanger. Meat smoker whatsit? Possible.

But he did say "bacon". 1. It makes me hungry and means I need to go cook dinner, and 2. ....bacon.... American streaky-style bacon... Or Canadian bacon. Any bacon not on a pineapple pizza. (waste of good bacon)

    Naw...this is heavy-gage steel wire, bent & spot-welded, then hot-dip galvanized for purpose. It certainly wasn't home-made from a coat-hanger.
Rayo56 has it, Spot-On! Thanks, all!

((drool)) Smoked ham and other Quebecer noms. Not the bacon for making a BLT out of, but then anything with raw tomato is a waste of ingredients. Exccept for white bread, which is also not food.

One exception to the above: the turkey, mayonnaise, cranberry sauce, lettuce leaf (one big, fat one), sandwich-- devoured several hours after the Thanksgiving meal proper.

Mayo and white bread? If you must, I suppose. Kaiser roll for me. Toasted.

Speaking of Kaiser rolls, my part of the world doesn't seem to have any. As I recall, they have a distinctly hard shell. Not here. Every time I see something labeled "Kaiser," I poke it...hoping. Nope. It's always "pillowy softness." :(

Ewwww. No. Pretzel rolls would work nicely. Might even make the turkey taste like food.
