    That is my favorite, too. I'm not sure what bone. I will need to study up on whale anatomy.

    Very nice indeed. Now, I admit to being guilty of this myself from time to time, but technically it is "whale bone" rather than "whalebone" which specifically (but perhaps erroneously) refers to baleen.

    Very nice pieces, of course. I particularly like the first one, of signaling walruses.

    Thanks for the correction. I should have dredged that up from my mental files on costume history (busks and corset stays).

    I call her , curios cub !
    ignore the price tag......it's the I don't want to sell it........but for $$$$
    ......I could change my mind......:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::rolleyes::p

    and no , I don't like the base , but at one time , lucite was all the rage....

    Well, now you are just showing off. ;)
    Do they have catfish up there? Or is it an Inuit fever dream? I definitely like it. It reminds me of the Makonde carvings of bush spirits called "shetani".
