Chinese? He does look a bit like a Steppes pony at that.

    Sure does. Moroccan. Thanks.

Found some stuff today too. Too late getting to some gold bracelets. Saw the local *itch with them in her hands as I walked up. But I glommed all the scrap silver and came home with more money than I left with. Also one piece that is NOT scrap - Birmingham 1911 Kiddush Cup. It's a small one, a hair over 4 inches, but fully marked. Unannounced tag sale find - the good piece in a pile of kid stuff.

Good for you. That never happens here. Estate sales are picked clean within an hour.

As I've told you before, most of the good thrifts are selling to dealers with one person getting kickbacks. I didn't go to one store notorious for this early, my mistake. Evidently they aren't all that pleased with that selling mode anymore or there were some mistakes. I bought this box of 14k earrings for $6.

The pins were $2 each. Sterling chain, sterling hoops, $3 each. Mother of pearl necklaces $1 each. Vintage sterling amber nugget pierced earrings $1.25.

These were marked as costume, $8, 14k opal and diamond huggies. The open-back clear rhinestone necklace was pricey at $7.

The murano glass and screwbacks were from another thrift mistakenly identified as cloisonne. They need a quick vinegar dip, $5.

Better shot of the amber earrings.

Funny thing is a dealer was in the jewelry case before me and left a lot of great stuff, IMHO.

This one has wriggle engraving; I have a hunch the maker was a Russian or other Ashkenazi Jew who emigrated.

This precious little lamp made me buy her, though I have zero use for it or anyone to give it too.The googly eyes yanked me in.Maybe one day my niece in law will change her ghastly bland Ikea taste and discover the joy of vintage.I do have to bite my tongue though ! I mean how cute is this ???

Wouldn't be my first choice either, but she'd be cute in a baby's room.
