Anyone know artist of 'The Entertainers'? Plus, big landscape w/cows painting a winner?

I found another cool piece of art at a local thrift store yesterday - which now puts me at over 400 paintings! It's time to start selling some before my girlfriend leaves!
Can anyone tell me who the artist is of this?
    I appreciate any help!
PS - The 2nd painting is BIG and I think beautiful, but I can't find a signature on it. The frame is made in the USA, so I'm hoping iy's not a factory painting? (I thought I saw letters in bottom photo but I'm not sure)
I know I don't need more art unless it's something special, so I had my friend who is the manager of the thrift store hold this painting for a day until I could ask your opinion here - is it just decorative, or something worth buying (price is $100)?
    Again, thanks for your help!

The cow painting is interesting, but the staples and very white canvas look very recent to my nonexpert eye.

I love 'The Entertainers', a real fun piece. Is it yours, or is it still at the thrift store?
    :eek::wideyed:;)
So am I, journey, so am I.:nailbiting: It has no soul, so I fear the worst....:sorry:
It isn't yours yet, and you don't want your girlfriend to leave because you have too many paintings? Are you sure you're not just addicted to buying paintings?:bag::muted:

The entertainers I bought - the landscape I waited on you guys because when I sent a photo to my girlfriend asking about buying it w/no signature for $100 she replied. "When the cows come home!" (as well as something about when pigs fly, when hell freezes over, etc...!)

Yah don't buy the cows, it's too new.
It may say "MADE IN USA" because it was not.
There's not a lot of truth in advertising anymore..

Too bright. Too new. "The cows" looks like a gicleé and is sure to be a copy.

Given the artist's double-barrel name, I'd look to Britain for 'The Entertainers.'

MADE IN USA is on the frame, not the painting. Maybe someone changed the frame.

#2 looks like a print. Tonalist - which was largely American, but not always. And it contains a horse, a man, a child, sheep and cows. Sheep and cows together are more English than American, but not always.

Doesn't help much, but I am a sucker for such works! :)

I also like ‘The entertainers’ it’s cool. It’s good your girlfriend has a sense of humour (it definitely helps)

Personally, I see NO horse in this Lovely scene, but I DO see a smaller person sitting on a cow or steer at the back of the pack with a man in a hat walking next to them..........!! AND IF one looks straight down from the large cow/steer next to the brown one at the front....you can see a "line" of something white-ish going across part of the road in the shadow by the green tufts of grass....that's some sort of printing that may or may not have something to do with the painting, very small and I was un-able to make it clear......should be below main scene..........

Very interesting. Great observation! Can it be a ‘hidden’ signature?

Mea culpa; the steed is indeed bovine, not equine.

I was probably just hoping the little person was not trying to maintain balance on top of that huge backbone.

I will look tomorrow if still there. It's a painting; you can see uneven strokes on edges of canvas on back.

That's a GOOD thought, I can imagine that MUST be SOOO UNcomfortable!!!! They just don't have nice round backs like horses!!!:):)

On that part I'm SO NOT sure....@Boland, not even sure it's English...couldn't make enough letters clear enough.....but I did try it forwards & backwards and it was NO clearer either way..........

Fig, I made the assumption that the new looking frame came with the new looking bovine painting on the stapled and likely factory gessoed canvas. I think this is a fair assumption, as I've seen more "highway art" and "factory art" that is framed, than that is not. But this one doesn't look old enough to be twentieth century highway art that would have been made in the usa. This looks like made in China and imported to the USA, the frame is typically brand new Asian.

I meant to add it looks like a giclee to me too, may have a few brush strokes of actual paint added to the surface, hard to tell.

Totally agree this could be a printing code. Journey, hold the painting up to the light and look at that spot there. ..
