After searching myself i find similar stuff when it comes to design and hardware.

    Anyone here that knows more?

there is clear handtool markings and rough edges some stuff dosent really line up and there is areas thats more worn than others so its been around for awhile 47582625-A6BF-4340-8588-BD7E3F50D3F5.jpeg

The problem with these is that they have been made virtually the same way for decades. My gut tells me your's is 20th century due to the stylized treatment of the central carvings. Maybe circa 1920. No expert, so see what others have to say.

My mother had a jewelry box bought by my dad in Vietnam in like 1962 and the carving looked a lot like yours. Even the brasses looked like yours. I think its more 50s-60s,its just seen a lot of use.Can we see the inside ? To me the carving isnt as fine as one would see on a Chinese piece, but Im no expert either.

Interior looks to be solid sheets of wood no laminated stuff.

yes, but the inside with all the screws and blocks , doesn't have the feel of an older chest....and the hardware looks vintage , not antique.

yes the blocks in the lid feels new and the screws holding blocks feels new also.

all other hardware looks like brass including nails that hold the interior, corner pieces inside is mounted with porous dowels.

It is a 20th century Vietnamese/Chinese camphor chest.
OP's one is probably Vietnamese made too. They are commonly known as Chinese, because they were first bought by sailors on the China trade routes. Later they were exported all over the world, and often sold in Chinese shops.

Since most people think they are Chinese, look for Chinese camphor chests.;)

@Epic "18th" century is 1700's and "19th" century is 1800s, hence komkwa's confusion about your stated dating information.

Seeing the interior, I don't think this is as old as even the 20s as previously guessed. I think Jonny's 60s date is probably a lot closer.
