Kyra’s elastic band idea is great and very resourceful. You could also buy one of those little chains with a safety pin on the end to double pin it to your clothing? Just make sure all the prongs are down around the gems as I find with that type of metal they can get bent up easily.

 

Thank you, KSW, I will have to look if there is some easy way to fix a safety chain to the brooch without soldering (eg. at the stems of the fan "feathers"). If not, Kyra's tip will do
Is a very good tip about the prongs as I already noticed that some are not well fixed around the stones, so I will fix them. Thanks again for the tips!

 

They have a tiny dogclip at one end!
I don't like them as the chain shows on the front and distract from the brooch itself...

Thanks, Kyra, it is a good point especially in the case of a small brooch like mine. I was rather thinking of something "homemade", I have plenty of chains of different styles and link sizes, and also plenty of safety pins. But the easiest solution is indeed your simple and effective tip, so I will start using it. Thanks again!
