Native American??? Cinch Coin Purse?

    not sure exactly what I have here, it’s a small woven cinch pouch with designs in the weave.

    I’m leaning towards Native American, but not positive. And if NA, I have no idea about tribal affiliation.

    When it comes to NA jewelry, I have a solid foundation of knowledge….. but textiles, not so much

    any thoughts on this piece?

    Your little bag is crocheted, which is not a traditional Native American technique.

    I, too, don't see NA at all... but can't make out what I do see, either!

    It might be the initials G L. I believe such items could have been made anywhere from the late 19th to mid 20th century, by any skilled craftswoman.

    My guess is that it was something featured in a Ladies Mag of the day - like "Needlecraft". They often had little "spotlight" pages that would include instructions for small projects - like this. Perhaps an Asian theme, or Native, or a page for an upcoming Holiday.
