Featured Oil pastel- Still life

Hi all,not the art I would usually buy but I like this (just a little different I thought ) I was thinking maybe late 70’s? (Or rather 80’s?) The signature is nice and clear but I still couldn’t find the artist. It’s 25x30cm. Any thoughts on the this? Skill level of artist? I was thinking it was nicely done?

A. Frenkel may have been a student or a talented amateur. Not fully accomplished but good enough to paint an attractive picture. I like it.

An artist Roy Krenkel existed but I think that is twisting it too far.

I did find this painting by Richard Frenkel. The signature is somewhat convincing but the style is very different. It does have a label from a gallery in South Carolina though if that's any guide.

For what it's worth... I don't think it's too far fetched to be work of same individual. A young artist doing a bit of exploring perhaps. They could even be class assignments.

The L is the same and the same unusual K with one curve for the two slanted lines. Also the bottom line in the R in Frenkel protrudes below the line in both
