I saw what looked like the residue one finds in old metal ashtrays, so just took a stab at it.
I didn't know it came all apart though.

 

Sold one several years ago, unfortunately, mine didn't say 'Gucci' either...

So 60s/70s then, more modern that I thought. Oh well, it was a bit of fun!

 

Eh - seeing one with original box, suspect 1970s-80s dating is probably closer to correct...

We carried brass flower-petal ashtrays like the one linked below at an upscale department store that I worked at in the mid/late '70s - have also seen them in cast aluminum, which I suspect were a bit earlier...
