    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

I have so very much enjoyed the journey from page one to page four of this thread. I would like to contribute. I don't want to crash the place with a zillion photos, so I think I'll give just a few examples of the various things I do.

    Murals... Photo 1.
I paint murals for a living... and making money means pleasing people... it's not always stuff I'm extremely proud of. But here's one I loved... first picture is a Veteran's Day tribute. They wanted this classic image, and they got it. I'll look through my stuff and try to find a couple more murals to post. But now, on to the fun stuff... the real me. My personal style is street-art-ish, irreverent, Mexican, and kinda in-your-face.

Graffiti Portraits... Photos 2,3,4. All are 11 x 14 inches.
I can turn these out fast... and cheaply, and they sell like hot-cakes locally and now and then on eBay. I do custom portraits, as I did for Mark and Ryan.

Bird ornaments in various media (clay, wood, gold)... 5,6,7. 2-6 inches.

Mexican Statements... 8,9,10... ranging from 2x2 to 2x 6 feet.

That's the limit on photos for a post... to be continued.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

    Novia (Bride)... bisection: bride/internal organs...1

Mexican Women... 2... kinda deco, expressionist, cubist... kinda...

The Mexican Race Skids... social commentary. 3.

All the above were about 2 feet tall.

    Miscellaneous parakeet portrait... 4.

    Sideways Sea... 5. 2x3 feet. It was a nightmare I had. I'm kinda water-phobic.

Thanks for looking... some sordidly commercial mural samples on the way...

Look at the date it was started. Almost a year ago. You weren't here then, were you? It probably got buried far down by new threads, that's why.

    Loving your art, Gila!

    Thanks for sharing! :)

Love that big red bird soaring above the man.

Edit to add: I now see that it's a Phoenix (not just a big red bird) - when I first viewed it I just clicked through the arrows and the titles weren't visible to me.

Well then.... These are older photos now and some weren't shot as well as I'd like.
The wall pieces are assemblages. They've also been called reliquaries by some.
The housing is usually a drawer with lots of stories to tell of its own. The objects, within or without, are inspired by something else in it, usually a found photograph of someone not known to me. The found objects tell a story about that person or persons. :)
Usually there is a reflective object in them so that you become a part of the story. :)

The wall hangers are very interesting. I like how you added things on the outside as well as the inside.

You showed a picture of the Leaf Woman once before, didn't you?

    Thank you!
When I do this I make every possible effort to not interfere with the object and so I attach things with methods hidden as best I can.
People love to figure out what the items are, or are from, and what their take on the story is.

My painting, such as it is... I can't find a quilt shot off hand, at least not the one I was looking for. This necklace has gone to a better home, but it started life as two different busted necklaces rolling around in ziplocks. The quilt was a gift for a friend. She's Indian and so is most of the colored fabric.
