Jam first in this house and fruit scones.

His Pa used to say Cornwall is famous for its sharks, most of whom are on land. ;)

Shellac might peel off again, I'd wax it.

Just a quick thread I now know the southern Magnolia is native to South Eastern US my thoughts are with residents of the South Western side as Dorian approaches. Hope you all stay safe

Hi ownedbybear thanks for the tip I think I may give shellac a go with a fine paintbrush as the areas where it's intricate has a lot of glass showing through I imagine buffing away trying to get wax off the glass may defeat the object. If the shellac fails I'll give it a go. I'm with your man's pa as I'm originally from Essex, a Dagenham boy called Wayne no wonder it's been uphill all the way :banghead:

Look at a map again. "South Western side" of the US would be southern California on the Pacific. ;)

    I'd use Renaissance wax.
    My commiserations.;)
    Wayne is an Essex boy.:p

I've been following Trump online too much. I was watching Dorian's path then I remember getting a weather map and adding Alabama to it then everything went blank. Sorry I woke up confused :angelic:

    @KikoBlueEyes

If you don't coat it without something that can't be removed again without doing damage, you can change you mind later.

A magnolia seed finial seems unlikely to me, but lots of pineapples out there, so...

Hi Davey Charlestown is about 30 miles from me. I'm 16 miles from St Ives so if I drew a line due west I'd hit Newfoundland. That makes your south east coast my south west. California is just, er, far south west in the same way I call China the far east. That's my excuse after a glass of wine and I'm sticking to it

An honest & minor misunderstanding that has been much apologized for shouldn't lead to anyone feeling shut out of the conversation. If she has stopped following the thread, she probably won't see the tag anyway. But @WaynePB no yanking of chains, please, even gently.

I pass him every time I go to St Ives. He isn't doing very well. Looks about 90 but he's only 32. Just goes to show what seven women nagging can do to you once the honeymoons have worn off

Mr Wayne. I got an alert from another member about your attempt to contact me. You were unsuccessful because I chose to ignore you and your posts. I realized after your initial accusatory response to my comment and the body language displayed in your avatar that you were not someone I wanted to invite into my life. Please understand that your attempts to bait me like you did in this post will fall on deaf ears as this forum has an ignore button, which I will apply in your case. My distaste for you and your antics should in no way affect your participation in this forum. I have nothing to offer you but there are many wonderful people here who are more than happy to help you with valuable and excellent information. I will repeat - I wish success in your efforts. Please act like I do not exist, since you do not exist for me. Kiko

Seriously, did anyone not expect a reaction when Kiko was tagged? There really was no need to do that to her, she had made it clear she didn't want to be part of this thread anymore. When people do that, leave them alone, that is all they ask.

Wayne, ýou seem to be testing how far you can go. Please don't make that testing into a crash and burn. I think you are a nice person at heart, but you are used to a way of communicating not everyone in the world is used to. This is an international forum, with people from different cultural backgrounds. Please bear that in mind.

As Greg said, we are a friendly forum. We are different from other forums, and many 'older' members came here to get away from goading and bullying.
You felt offended by the plastic question, Kiko really meant no offense and apologized. I am sorry you were so affected that you couldn't leave it alone.

@Bronwen , why oh why? You are not like that, so I can only assume you didn't see what Wayne was doing. His post was a needle wrapped in cotton wool.;)

Now please, can we be a nice forum again, where no one gets bullied?

I have already explained & apologized to kiko privately. Comes down to not having read closely enough before posting.

Wonderful, thanks for letting us know.
I thought as much, as I said, you are not like that.:)

Now let's enjoy this beautiful forum.
