Odd Photo, Share for Thoughts - Black Cat Halloween

Hello Everyone,

So I purchased a photograph lot a long while back and it was mostly pre-1900 cabinet card photographs. In the box were few random newer photographs and this sort of 1940's - 1950's Album.

Now, in this album there are tons of photographs of a family skiing and doing normal family photos on trips and what not. Then..... there is this photo.

*Cruelty to animals, not cool*

But what strikes me as odd, is the joy on the girls face.

What a strange and odd photograph....

Poor Black Cat, if you want to cross my path... I'll let you.

I hope that cat got him good!

 

I'm glad the photographer didn't capture the man's face. I don't think I could stand seeing any glee there.

 

I had the same reaction looking at the photo... a cruel thing to do to the cat, and why on earth is the little girl smiling? Really odd.

 

My gut-wrenching suspicion is this... the guy is cruel to animals... maybe also children... maybe the girl... so she BETTER have a smile on her face lest the monster senses she disapproves which would result in... awful things?

 

Scary thought....

Of course, OldGuy (OG to me) already crowned me Queen of Drama, so...
My ideas always deserve a grain of salt.

 

I will put this out there, having previously owned some...shall we say...over-enthusiastic cats. It may be that Kitty, in an excess of love, tried to climb the little girl, thereby clawing her Easter outfit, and incidentally, her.

 

You are a good and decent and pure soul, precious Silver... I am glad you are here to balance my comments!

 

I don't see any evidence of such - and that piece of dung held the cat this way long enough for the photo to be taken.

 

It dawns on me that, as if my life wan't already stressful enough, I was getting all het up over an azzhole that has probably been dead for many a year.

But even with that, it does almost make me wish I believed in hell. heh heh heh

look at the way the kids hands are clasped.......that's not a happy smile on her face.....it's a gut wrenching , teeth clenching response !!

possibly....but you may be over thinking things not evident in the photo.....
I only see what I see......and that's not a happy kid....

It's like LBJ with the beagles.

 

I think she is smiling. I think he said, "Watch Daddy fling the cat." It may have been a normal occurrence in their household and she wouldn't have known any better.

 

But but but...
If he had flung that cat before, I can't figure the cat would let him get within 50 feet.
Fascinating how many thousands of words this picture is worth, though!
