Couple portrait brooches that came in a lot I bought. I don’t have photos of the backs at the moment. When I took the photos I was just trying to find out more about the portraits not the pieces of jewelry. The woman with flowers in her hair looked kind of French to me? The other Scandinavian or maybe British? Also included was the swan knight which I guess is from a medieval tale. Any help appreciated. I’ll get photos of brooch backs when I can. 7E45E54E-3BBD-4E4D-B30A-F83BED67C196.jpeg AA930571-9590-4AA0-ACF9-6F69EA0F5180.jpeg E135A661-DEF4-4C71-A95A-C63F9F0CF4E3.jpeg 7532BD8F-D33E-4725-A1E0-2D514161D9A2.jpeg BD8B60EC-74D3-42FB-B9ED-647565843573.jpeg

Yes, think the knight is Lohengrin. Popularized by Wagner's 1850 opera.

Ahaha. I actually planned to make a joke around a similar title and not acknowledge I knew one was a knight but forgot all about that plan. He is awfully pretty though.

Ah yes. I did actually discover this before posting. Just forgot to mention it. Here’s another image I found of him. BA07FD53-78C6-4D8F-B4DB-8D456B016D4D.jpeg

The middle lady is a bit naughty, isn't she?
I quite like the older-looking lady, she seems to be made with much detail.

The lady with the gold cap could be Austrian. There are several Austrian regional costumes with gold caps. The models are different now, only the girl's caps have a similar shape to this one, but regional dress evolves and this could be an old model.
It seemed to work when he rescued our duchess Elsa of Brabant. Mind you, he was just in time, a horse would probably have been faster.:wideyed: Elsa obviously didn't mind, she married him.:playful:
Her hand indicates that she is planning to go further.;) I hope she isn't trying to seduce Lohengrin.

Swam power, no one thought to harness it but this genius. It’s the largest fowl, beats being the duck knight.

I thought she was showing an awful lot of cleavage. The older lady is really well done portrait!

Oddly Austrian was the first thing that crossed my mind for some reason. I immediately realized I had no idea why I had that thought and that I had zero knowledge or evidence to back it up and moved on. Strange that you’d confirm it’s a likely source. Thanks for the tip!
