Took ages but the acetone did soften the cement so I could peel the gold away. Thanks for the tip. Half a gram only but it all adds up!

    Two little finds from hols.
Would you describe the brooch as Art glass?. Don’t think it’s old but so pretty.
Bonus find a 9ct gold UnoAerre hoop earring on the beach!. OH has now named me Magpie:chicken:. (Closest emoji I could get to a Magpie)

I am a magpie and proud of it! I'd call the brooch "Foiled dragon's breath" or foiled opal glass, if one must. It has the dragon's breath veil in it. It looks rather modern, but when it comes to DB I don't discriminate. :chicken::chicken::chicken: (magpie alert)

I don’t typically buy silverplate but when I see something like this polar bear ice water pitcher for less than $12.00 I do. It’s a tall piece, about 13” and very heavy.
I was caked with old silver polish so I had to clean and polish the whole thing. No maker’s mark but I’m thinking Gorham, Taunton, Meriden or such.

A large misshapen pearl, not worth much but pretty and hoping to use it in a jewelry design. CAAC3ECB-3AA3-447E-84C2-767C23E386E7.jpeg

A pendant with what looks like a geode and labradorite or moonstones in sterling. 5CA3281A-33B4-4561-A177-3EF1008AA81D.jpeg

And a heavy necklace. The setting isn’t marked but the weight of the beads makes me think it’s stone. 85377478-0540-4217-99A0-B077B4CC7A48.jpeg

There's no word 'misshapen' when it comes to pearls; the term is 'baroque'. It's not La Peregrina, so not worth much on that scale, but learned some pearls can be worth a surprising amount, depending on source, when I had to replace one.
