Featured Silver bowl, likely made when, where?

Great find, and great job using the “bendy” method which I believe in. I just found a similarly marked item (not nearly as pretty as yours). here’s a few photos of mine. It has a barely visible part of “silver” spelled on the bottom, again it’s barely there. I used the bending method to buy it because it felt correct. Tested a bunch, always comes back a rich red color via acid test:

 

It's a nice piece, although I don't see why it would be Malaysian or Indonesian in origin. If it was, then it was probably made for the European expat community. It doesn't look like something that would be produced for, say, the local Peranakan community, for example.

 

The Malaysian bowl Houseful found online has nothing to do with the Peranakan community though.
It looks roughly the same as Indonesian ceremonial offering bowls. It probably has the same purpose in Malaysia.

These are Indonesian, the first one is gold, with the same tumpal (triangular) decoration on the footrim. The tumpals suggest a ritual use, although they can be seen on 'worldly' objects as well.
