I’ve been quite restrained for a while but I caved and bought a job lot of vintage jewellery on eBay as it had some interesting bits in it including this little brooch.
I’ve not seen much in the way of brooches like this made of what I presume is patinated bronze? The green isn’t powdery like verdigris.
Sweet little brooch that is only about 1” long.
Any ideas of age or of the flower type? Or made to look old by the
    patination?
The little flowers are so beautifully made.
    Thankyou :)

Really unique piece, like Arts & Crafts Nouveau.Ive recently been bit by the jewelry bug,and even though I know nada about it-I was surfing Ebay for oddball lots too ! Some of the stuff's sold by the ton,and most is prob worth that, but it's fun to window shop.

I’ve found it’s been the best and most economical way to learn. Buy a spares & repairs lot, sift through and research the interesting bits, keep what I like and sell the rest.
This is why so many of the pieces I ask about on here are broken!
Some of the lots are just someone else’s trash so you have to pick carefully, some you win and some you lose.
This c1kg lot cost me £35 including the postage and about 50% was good stuff. I have to see enough in there that I can cover my costs or something interesting enough to make me buy it anyway!
I didn’t even see this brooch in the photos so I was happy to find it :)

Nice one! Cant help you much with it though, what others said would also be my guess.
    Good way of learning!
I try to train my eye by looking in books, watching the good/expensive period pieces be sold and bought online in the hopes that I will recognize when something crosses my path.
I keep a close eye on where uninterested people sell their stuff and when something good pops up eventually, I push the 'buy' button as fast as I can.

Very unusual, and I also think Arts & Crafts.
It looks like it should be the other way around, with the flowers ganging like snowdrops, but that doesn't make sense with the position of the pin fixtures.
I wonder if they once had stone/glass centres. Longish ones, the way you sometimes see coral teardrops in gold flowers.

Botany geek has no clue what the heck those flowers are meant to be. Lovely brooch otherwise.

'Sepals'-now You're talking my Lady's lingo.Would be quite lovely w/a couple of agreeable accent stones.
If it was bigger it'd also make a superb A&C Doorknocker !

Could well have done.I’ll have a look through my stash and present my options to the assembled.
1880-1920, anywhere particularly on that time line?

I was relying on you
    Good possibility, I did wonder.

Ask her if she know what type of flower it is please!

Will do KS-to my uneducated eye,the Flowers (not stocks) looks somewhat like a 3-d stylized hieroglyph of an Egyptian Lotus Flower (almost). Will confer w/ My Lady.
    Branches/Stock do look like Ferns.

The leaves aren’t lotus though. They look like fern curls.

Guessing 1880s-90s, but disclaimer: I have never seen a brooch like this before.

I’ll have a nose online. Thankyou for the suggestions :)
They do don’t they, but what has fern curls and flowers? Maybe artistic license?

It’s from a universe far far away then….
Failing that, any indication as to if it’s British or continental or ??

    Yes, it is.:vulcan:
Those Arts & Crafts travelled around, visited each other's artist colonies etc, so it is difficult, but my guess would be British. In another galaxy of course.:blackalien:
