I used the search function for posts in this thread using the word 'aluminum'. You were the first poster to call it that; none of OP's posts are listed. And that's because he says it's aluminium.

I'm certain it says somewhere in this thread, but I'm not seeing it... what is the diameter of the hole?

 

the size of the hole is not mentioned.....
and the guys i'm showing it to ...are older than millennials...

The hole is approx 16mm dia and the tube inside dia is 14mm so 1mm thick tube and about 150mm long.

 

My wife showed it to 3 designers.... they got nuthin....
Next...the engineers...

For those needing the conversion, that 14mm is just over 1/2".

Which is considerably smaller than I was thinking.
