Featured Moccasins

    Anyone have thoughts as to age and tribal affiliation on these moccasins?

    They look old to me, as does the cloth liner on the inside.

    They've definitely been worn as there's one wear hole and a separate internal patch sewn in (last pic).

    Nice shoes.Is that dark blue material corduroy,velvet,etc ? The thread is a twine of some kind or thin leather ?

    Traditionally sinew was used, but I can't see if that was used here.

    The blue is velvet, I think.

    yes , but cotton thread has been used for a long time for sale and native use..

    the pair look like mid century Iroquois ....
    the single......has a Sioux look to it .....but may also be Crow...

    Yes, it is.
    They now make imitation sinew, but that wasn't around when these were made.

    The single looks similar in construction to a Shoshone-Bannock pair I have that were made around 1982. But the beads on yours make me think it's older than that.
