What a lovely thing ! Im just guessing here, but I think its a later copy of a Regency style. The bottom back makes me think maybe 1930s ? Wait for the furnies to chime in . :)

Boy, that is unusual! What a fun piece.

Agree, wait for the furniture folks to stop by.

Meanwhile, if possible, go back and edit your photos by clicking on "Full Image".

Tapestry is later than the chair, I suspect. Stool tapestry looks ok. The chair back is good for nineteenth century, but the legs and base are a tad clunky.

Can you show the underneath of both seats and the underneath of the feet please?

    Where was this found?

    The good ol thrift store!

Can anyone read the street address? 1027 _alto_ Avenue? Thought it might be "Walton" but not an 11 story building.

1027 Waltol Avenue, I assume that is the address of the owner back then.

There is no Waltol Avenue in the Bronx. I suspect it's "Walton" but 1027 not an 11 story building.

Six story building but it does have apartments numbering "11." Built 1927 so that's your earliest date for restoration and/or upholstery. Middle class address off the Grand Concourse.

Think Edwardian era and possibly Italian. At the very least, don't think this is American.

My thought was Italian or French. Not English. I think earlier than Edwardian, might even be period for the style.
