Cameo brooch help?

any info would be awesome...whst would one price it at???? Asking for someone else...

 

Is this yours and you want to sell it? If so you need to do some repair before listing. If not, I would pass unless it is very inexpensive. Sorry, JMHO

Someone else's cameo would, I think, be quite pretty & of interest to collectors if in perfect condition. As is...

 

We could ask @kyratango how she would deal with it. It would still be a restored piece & have to be sold as such.

 

Could be real pearls around it.... I have never seen knotted pearls on string used around a cameo.

 

Always worth checking, but doubt they are real. Looks to me like a length of artificial peals cut to (almost) the right length & glued on. On the best pearl surrounded cameo pieces the pearls are individually set on posts or with prongs. Mid level pieces may have seed pearls strung on wire. I have a cameo backed with MOP that has drill holes that allow the tiniest of seed pearls to be almost sewn on with very fine floss, a cameo example of a more general fashion for MOP & seed pearl jewellery.

Thanks! I was asking for a friend. I wasn’t sure what to tell her. I personally think everything about this looks terrible. And the colors are tacky. But I’m very cut and dry about things. I just don’t like it. Lol so wasn’t sure how to go about talking to her about this
