    Finally got a reply:

With the help of our collegue from heritage team, we finally figured that this product is on our catalogue since 1935, serving as Cheese Sprinkler.

I asked them what do they mean by been in their catalog since 1935? Like, they found the piece in that only year Christofle catalog, that’s when it was first made and produced till nowadays or made in 1935 and discontinued at some later point...
Good to know what it is but googling with Christofle cheese sprinkler is not showing any other examples. Either there is another term or people who have it for sale do not know what it is.

Kardinalisimo - Thanks for the update! And allow me to say, with humble modesty, to all and sundry

Haha I was right! I was right and you weren't. Haha I was RIGHT!!!!!

Also allow me to say THAT NEVER HAPPENS!

I am glad you found the answer - and I hope that you make a killing with it as it appears to be (forgive me, but this time it really applies) RARE!!

The one from EBTH sold cheap but I hope the proper description to help a bit.
Also, do you think it falls in Art Deco style?

Can you give a link to the EBTH one?

Jivvy linked this earlier in the thread
    https://www.ebth.com/items/2750909-late-20th-century-christofle-cup-drainer

The rep from Christofle said they don’t make it anymore, so all we know is that it was made first in 1935 and discontinued who knows when...
I would think this was used mostly in restaurants rather than for home use?
I wish there was a cruise ship logo on it :)

    Thanks, I didn't see that :)

Christofle did design the line Ondulations for the SS Normandie...

This silver plated Christofle champagne bucket was designed by Luc Lanel, circa 1932. It was specially made for the famous Normandie cruise ship. This champagne bucket is representative of the Art Deco French style. It is engraved "CGT" for "Compagnie Générale Transatlantique".

I'll dig up the Georg Bastard/Edgar Brandt chrome vase I sold awhile back.

    Nice find, @kardinalisimo!

Yeah, I recently sold pair of CGT creamers and they did very well. I’d think ship/hotel pieces would always be marked with their logos.

    Hi,
A church down the street from me(when I lived in Brooklyn) had it's front doors bronze from the Normandie and a lot of pieces from the Normandie. When I was asked to visit once I was dumb founded by all the "treasures"
salvaged from the Normandie. I had several cobalt blue glass ashtrays from the Normandie. Sold them off years a go.
