AJ..In my minds eye I see you as your avatar, male, young, cocky, rather mysterious and with Spocky ears so I find your last comment a little arousing.....I am definitely off for my coffee before I make a holy show of meself...

    I am exactly the opposite.:joyful:

My avatar is a girl, btw. The Spocky ears are locks of hair behind round earplugs. She was given a mask by another member.
This is her, a Balinese legong dancer:

No, too late, it is fixed in my mind despite your evidence to the contrary. So clearly my minds eye is sensing something...... I am willing to forgo the ears, well no actually I am not....

Isn't it similar to parents who tend to always carry the image of their angelic little ones long after they are towering over them?

    And no longer angelic.

    Happy Sunday AJ:singing::singing::singing::singing:

AJ, figured this out. In describing my impression I was describing himself when I met him nearly 20 years ago. Irresistable! He has since turned into an endlessly patient, calm, nurturing, bit of a genius presence in my life and that is what I experience with you.

Spooky isn't it, the unconscious mind? Thank you again AJ:happy:

He sounds perfect, and it is also perfect that he came into your life.:)
    I feel very honoured, Carol.

Btw, I have a tiny bit of Indian in my ancestry. I am part Indonesian, and many men from that side of the family have the name Aryo added to their first name. In Indonesia that means you are descended from the people who brought Hinduism from India.

    We hi-jacked Carole's introduction thread, didn't we.:shame:

You are truely a fount of knowledge, I thought you were Dutch Dutch and that I might add to your knowledge of Hinduism in the future...how appallingly embarrassing...............sorta kidding:happy:

Yes, we did but I am sure she will get a bigger picture of the possibilities in this forum as I have.

Have a sweet day my dear:happy::happy::happy:

    (emphasis added).

    carolgal,
you have made my day by saying "Dutch Dutch" because I live in a state which was (is) rather heavily populated by people of Scots/Irish descent.

Whenever I travel "up north" far from my state I have to remind myself not to say someone was "sweet sweet" or an event was "lovely lovely" -- apparently they don't understand/appreciate the doubling of complimentary words for emphasis.;)

I took it to be Dutch-Dutch instead of for instance Dutch-Indonesian or Dutch-Turkish. Or indeed Dutch-Irish.:)

And that was the way I too took it in a strict sense.

Sorry, Any Jewelry, if my insertion of speech patterns in the area I live in came into play and led to any confusion. I apologize x 5. :shame: (I don't think it calls for a "x 10" . . . do you?) ;)

Yes, it was the way AJ took it but funny enough we do say it generally too which I had never noticed before so thanks for that, will have a laugh with the next person who says it here! Trying to go cold turkey from the forum today, not easy!!!
