The signature looks like "A. Bubin". The "B" doesn't appear to be a "R", so I doubt it is an Auguste Rubin. I assume it is hot casted as it must weigh approx. 150 lbs. I was told that it had previously been sold at auction following the closing of the Kapok Tree Inn restaurant in Clearwater, FL back in the 80s. It is a gorgeous piece that my wife and I recently acquired from a consignment shop and we would like to know more about the piece.

Any guesses or leads? Thanks for looking.

Better pictures have been uploaded to my image folder.

Tried everything but couldn't find a scrap. The copies of this were probably all sold pre-Internet. Looked for kissing cherubs, Angels, umbrella, etc, nuthin'.

Just wonder whether it's worthwhile doing a closer inspection. That Bubin doesnt look like a maker's mark, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't some identifying foundry mark on it somewhere

There are numbers above the name, but I can't tell if there's anything else.

No other mark on it, unless on bottom of base which I doubt. Any idea what the embossed "32" may mean? The consignment shop had indicated that the previous owner's purchase price was $17,000, though we paid less than a tenth of that amount. I've no knowledge of bronze sculpture, though it appears to be quite a detailed piece. Thanks for your comment.
