Found this in the cottage I’m remodeling, I really didn’t think it was going to work after being in the damp basement for decades. It was wound tight and not starting, took a little coaxing. Still needs some serious cleaning.
Notice the cardinal and sparrow on the rail checking it out, about 38 seconds in.

It poster 1.jpg I can't see the video, it says unavailable. :(

I went treasure hunting today with the rest of south Jersey- everybody was out because the weather cooled down, nevermind the rain.

I snapped a quick picture of this. It is in an AC Moore plastic box frame, and there is another print behind it. It appears to be lobby card sized, but.... I don't see any lobby cards like this, and very few posters, even repros, that look like this. There is an genuine poster from Italy that looks like this on ebay.... I need to photograph the printing at the bottom tomorrow in daylight. It was only a dollar, and there seems to be another print behind it in the box frame.

Here is the ebay link to the vintage Italian poster

    What do you all think?
    It poster 1.jpg

Hmmm.... here is a repro lobby card, $14.95.

These must be copied from the original movie poster and made to look like lobby cards. The one behind it is this- Viking Women and the Sea Serpent.

That was hilarious fun for a dollar. I think I might have to put them in the bathroom.

How cool is that! And the local birds must be wondering who the new guy is!

And if they should be breaking him out? A friend's parakeet went on the lam a few weeks ago; he's probably out there having a good time and headed for Parakeet Party Central (Southeastern CT).

These are a few bits I found the other day. Two lucite bracelets, some Ayala Bar earrings (Israeli costume) and two pewter pins. Both of those are signed by somebody. I loved the cow. And the cat, naturally.

If they're lava, they were deliberately made to look very crude. They photograph more like clay, but maybe larger grained material was used. For those who never look at the cameo thread, this is how lava can look when used for cameos:

And no, you don't want to drop it on a hard floor. The noses on figures like the ones above are chipped off more often than not.

I have one of that same type of construction in the blue-green colors I love that has aquamarine & prehnite. As I recall, it was $18-20 new, from India, a few years ago. Feel a little guilty: they have to be using slave labor to make them to sell them that cheap.

Anund, did you see the episode of Victoria where she had one of these mechanical birds?

I went out thrift shopping yesterday, but the everybody else in South Jersey had the same idea. You know how people are snowed in and when they can get out they are out in force? Same thing here when our heat wave finally broke. So I was feeling bad because I probably missed some great things. Some stores the jewelry was wiped out.

But I persevered. Remember my story where they jacked the prices up on silverplate I wanted to buy? The lady stood there looking it up on eBay and wanted to charge me $1.50 per piece. So I went in to that store yesterday, and I saw a sign they changed their prices to 50 cents each for silverplate (unless they are selling a complete set.) No silverplate. I got there an hour before closing, and I almost had a heart attack when I saw this on the jewelry rack. I will post this on the jewelry board because I have many questions about it. It is signed on the bottom of the netsuke. Set me back $8. The beads are definitely ivory.

I found this coral necklace, clasp marked lucoral, at the next thrift shop that marked up their silverplate when I took it to the register. From the $3 jewelry rack, 18." What type of branch coral is it?

These beads were pricey for me, but heavy, knotted, with a clasp marked sterling.
I am posting them on the jewelry board with close-ups and questions.

This for $5, posting on the jewelry board, too, don't know what the big stones are, agate?

Score! The raspberry and blue beads look like Czech glass or Italian, on what looks like the original stringing. The bracelet is either agate or glass.

Yeah, believe it or not, I am trying to branch out into other areas. I picked up two prints? signed by known artists. Need to photograph. Not worth much, but worth more than I paid, and the framing is very nice. If I have a feeling about something, I hide and google it.

20190723_152706 (3).jpg Picked up this awesome necklace. The clasp is marked "kollmark kette" so I'm wondering if it's an early Kollmar & Jourdan piece. Not sure if the coin is original to it.
