British Monarchy Plaques. Anyone know anything about these?

Hope this is in the right category. Picked these up this weekend. Etched or engraved? plaques of two members of the British Monarchy, Queen Elizabeth I and Henry VIII. Tag on the back reads, HAND MADE IN ENGLAND. Anyone know any info on these pieces? Are they brass or bronze? Approximate age? What are they used for, strictly decorative? I thought they looked a bit like rubbings of some sort. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

 

They measure 4" x 6".

 

Little decorative plaques. Stamped rather than engraved or etched, I'd think. Might be brass. Likely a souvenir. 1970s from the sticker.

It has only been in the last 50 or so years that 'Hand Made' has been a selling point, so pretty well anything claiming to be hand made or hand painted will be fairly modern.

 

Am I seeing resin holes on the back? Are they actually cold metal Lacey?

 

Awfully small, but awfully nice!!!! I'm thinking decorative! "Hand Made" can be tricky too!!

 

They seem a bit thick to be solid metal if you see what I mean. You could get away with them being much thinner and not using so much metal.
I’m thinking bronze resin coated.

 

They're made to look like old printing blocks, but only "like"; the writing would be backward if you used them as ink stamps.

 

I will upload a pic in a sec of the back where the felt is peeled up.

 

I see some verdigris in the crevices of the design. So they are cold-cast resin?

Yes I think they are. You can help the verdigris look along with daubing on copper sulphate after casting but I think it's probably happened naturally with yours. Just a reaction to the copper in the bronze powder in the resin due to general atmospheric conditions damp etc.
