    Wow, that’s amazing Leslie!
    Thankyou SO much for such an amazing wealth of information about the bobbins!
    I didn’t expect to get such comprehensive information about them and I REALLY appreciate the time you have taken.
    I’m astounded that they can be tracked back to the actual maker even if we don’t have a name, it’s great to know that you and I have something that was created by the same person.
    I will read at leisure and thank my lucky stars every day that I found this forum and it’s wonderful members :kiss:

    Hi KSW, I'm always glad to share my info ... education is the key to keeping the old arts alive!
    Here is a photo of my own bobbin from the "rotten pewter man" - this one is a called a butterfly. You can see the "arrow" shape inserts and you can also see that I've lost several rings. I don't use it any more. It has an unusual "spangle" attachment also; whereas the wire is just twisted around the end of the bobbin.

    Yes, imagine how many hands these pieces have crossed before they landed in our laps! So are you going to take up bobbin lacemaking??
