Last question for the night ... I promise :)

Mystery vase ... such an odd little fella ... I had to buy it

    - This is a heavy little vase (just under 3" high)
    - Very yellow! and very shiny (almost like a luster) - except for a thin section at the top where it is super bright opaque yellow
    - little 'pinches' in the surface of the glass
    - ragged asymmetrical rim
    - base ground flat but not polished ( necessarily Chinese? ... don't they try to copy well-known pieces ... not odd ones?)

Could it be from a student just learning different techniques?

    Thanks again for looking! :)

There's absolutely no question that it is a paperclip dispenser.

Perhaps an unformed minion? Unfortunately, it does look intentional to me and not a student piece. But I can't throw too many weird little vases as I've got quite a collection myself!:joyful:

This is what came to my mind when I saw it (and by the way, I love this little vase - a lot!).

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

I had fun searching images... it seems there is a following for "pinched", "crumpled" and "cased" art vases, a leading maker of which was George Ohr, the "mad potter" of Biloxi". I love this little chingadera.

    Hi,
'Weird' is a good descriptive adjective for this vase.
Weird Opinion : The vase resembles a Rhino. It is possibly Italian art glass. It was definitely mouth-blown and hand finished. Very interesting.
