I found a few nice things at the antique mall last week.
All items were 20% off the marked prices!
    Gold filled pocket watch $4
    14k .30 carat diamond ring $2.40,
14k blue topaz and diamond earrings $6.90

I couldn't believe there was a diamond ring in that baggie. It was super cruddy, but cleaned up real nice! It's very white and eye clean, with only a few small inclusions around the girdle.
And the blue topaz earrings are my new favorite!

I found some similar to that in a yard sale. Actually a divorce sale - she sold her entire jewelry box as one lot. Ex gave her all of it. I offered more than she asked but she wouldn't take it. My sister got the earrings. Maybe the diamond got loose the same way; the previous owner kicked the gifter to the curb and the ring went with.

Sure is fun to be around to catch things like this when they're thrown out!

One of the volunteers spotted them. She has given me an ivory pin that she had. While I don't want to traffic in ivory, I know the shop priced them as plastic.

went to a sale this morning - cool pair of mini binoculars in case (1 3/4"H x 3 1/4"L), unmarked but I suspect from England; copper trinket? dish with blue enamel inside, 3 little feet and marked China on the back. At first I thought maybe an ashtray, but no indents for putting the cigarette: 2 Chinese bud vases? Not quite a pair, one is 5 3/4"H, the other is 6". I'm pretty sure these are export silver, haven't figured out the mark yet, but have started to clean them, they are looking beautiful already:) Will post in the silver section once cleaned:)
