    thank you! have had it since 2008 and just today had it confirmed as authentic by Gary williams the authority on buckles. I'm very happy and still a little in awe of the history

    If u get time I'd really like to see a pic of the back, maybe with the two halves separated and side by side. I'm looking to learn the little things that say real vs. repro.

    If you are ever questioning..repro or real...I'm not sure if you are aware of Garry Williams. He was one of the first metal detector civil war detectives. He lives at cold harbour and has a foundry and has probably made most of the repros cast from the originals he has found. He is a very , very nice man but also very private. He always marks his buckles gw..but many people have worn off the initials and aged teh buckles. I was very happy when he authenticated this one for me. He said it was a little beaten up but absolutely genuine.
