Are you looking to find pattern names? If so, many patterns never had names.

According to my Shelley reference book, the pattern name for 13469 is called Blossom and the cup shape is Henley. The back stamp was used between 1940 and 1966.

Edit: also what Bluumz said is correct about no pattern names on many.

In the past china was sold by the set based on appearance. Except for very expensive china the concept of open stock for replacement pieces simply didn't exist. China sets were cheap and if too many pieces broke you would just buy a new set in a different pattern. Pieces broke frequently because the hand washing that dishes required before electronic dishwashers led to frequent casualties. This changed mid 20th century, though. Dishwashers became common items in kitchens. In addition bridal registries came into vogue and china was seen as something desirable to pass down through the family.
