After a dry spell in our charity shops things are picking up!

    Modern but pretty beads

Modern pretty glass, I never know if these are Italian or Chinese but good colour.

Gorgeous orange vintage crackle glass beads.

Jewelcraft bracelet (I’ve got a matching Coro brooch) and a sterling amethyst modern necklace.

I think these might be coral, they don’t feel like bone.

I rarely buy modern costume but I thought this has potential. I might keep the centre part , remove the flowery bits on the side, change the chain and dangle.

I had to persuade the sales assistant to sell me this as she said ‘You don’t want that, it’s broken’ :hilarious: 9ct

Not quite sure what to make of this. Not silver, glass beads banded with gold paint and some react orange to UV.

You done good. The foiled glass bracelet with the flowers looks like it's Chinese beads, but the red ones are Venetian without a doubt. That stringing style is Italian. The white ones are coral for sure. I have some here that I want to restring. That blue thing ought to be left alone; it's new, but it's in the Art Nouveau style and I'd probably have bagged it too. Not sure about the yellow beads - manganese in the glass?

There are some nice bits of glass coming from China. I’ve seen this style in the Pandora type bead described as Murano but from what you say that is sellers artistic license.

    Woohoo! I was hoping so.

It’s a very nice style but the quality of the side bits lets it down. I’ll see what it’s like after a clean.
Yes! It’s something like that, I’ll Google. I always forget what element glows which colour!

Great, they are really pretty :)
    Thanks Ruth :)

KSW, just to say that I also love your finds! All of them, no matter Chinese or Venetian, they just look gorgeous!
And why damage the blue floral enamel necklace ( the one after the corals), it is so pretty!

I’m not going to damage it, maybe just alter it as the quality on the side pieces is poor, looks cheap and the gems are badly attached. I can put it back together if it doesn’t work. I wouldn’t do it if it was genuinely vintage or good quality. The photo probably makes it look better than it is.

Yellow one is rather nice. Bet it's silver. Between the wars and Czech, I reckon. Like those beads.

I love beads, such a huge variety and glass is such an amazing product.
