    Hello everyone,

I have spent quite some time the last day or so trying to get information on an odd ring I found while metal detecting with no success. Does anyone have any opinions or even directions I should go with my search? With how strange it is and how deep I found it I am too curious not to go the extra step and ask for some help.

Chasing CT vampire stories? There were some weird rumors flying here in the Victorian era.

Damn, I'd put it right back where you found it. There has to be a curse with that and it will come walking down the hallway to get you at midnight! :stop:

I know, too many horror movies in the wee hours of the morning!

First @zunit, WELCOME to ANTIQUERS!! Crazy looking ring!!! Fun find!! So I enlarged it 3X and hoped it would make the markings a bit more readable, also de-saturated a bit of the rusty color with the same goal.....I have NO idea as to the markings, but you can peruse and feel free to save the results!!! You might try rubbing a little cinnamon in what looks like some numbers to enhance them, but that's about all I've got.....middle image pretty sure has a 6, think I see a Z and a D in the bottom image.....maybe depending on how you turn it!!

Have you looked on https://www.historicaerials.com/ to see what used to be in its location?
Could have been in a garden, I'm always losing stuff in my garden. It's amazing how quick things can get swallowed up

Looks silver plated and has lost the majority of its plating. Looks brass or copper under plating. Just fell off someone’s hand or out of their pocket while in the woods. You detect long enough and you find a lot of rings in places you don’t expect to find rings. Could just have been cold, fingers shrunk, and it slipped right off. Neat design. Maybe hand made mold, like lost wax or something.
