Could this glass vase be Northwood?

About 7" (~18 cm) tall. Fiery opalescent blue with raised diamond design and crimped/ruffled/bent edge.

At first, I thought Fenton ... but now ... not so much.

Is there a name for the treatment of the top of this vase? I must be using the wrong search terms because I can find nothing quite like it - at least nothing with all of the different elements together in the same vase.

    Thanks for looking!

Do you mean the ruffled part rolled rim?

Yup :) Is rolled a preferred term rather than 'bent'?

Not sure! But something a bit similar at Salado Creek antiques

Searching Google for "antique ruffled morning glory glass vase" brought up items with a similar shape for me. Also, using the same keywords but "trumpet" instead of "morning glory" brought up some similar items, though not as many.

Thanks for sharing that Rhiw! I like the design and color of that vase more than mine (not really too sure about the applied flower and leaf - that's a lot going on in one little vase) ... Though, I do wish they had mentioned who made it.

    Thanks Pat :)
I had used "trumpet" in some of my searching, but hadn't thought of "morning glory"
So you would call this more of a ruffle than a crimp or a ruffled crimp ?

    You're welcome, Quirky. :)

I don't have any expertise here, was just going by what felt appropriate to me in terms of language usage. Our glass folks would know the correct glass world terminology much more than me.

nice vase quirkygirl! I thought Fenton or maybe Jefferson, not sure of the base though. I'll have a look in my opalescent book and see if it is there - won't be until later in the day.

Thank you cx! No hurry ... It's not going anywhere anytime soon (if ever)

I can't find the book at home so it must be at the store - will check tomorrow. I was searching around and found this - if you scroll down to Lorna Vase, the top and base look similar to yours, also has terms used to describe different top treatments. I can't find this pattern though, it is driving me nuts as it looks like it should be easy.

Thanks again cx! Lots of great info in that guide ... oddly, I read two other guides written by this person ... but somehow missed the one you've shared - the most relevant one .

It's so frustrating ... feeling so close to ID-ing this ... but it's like a frankenvase! Must be RARE! ha ha ha
