Here I am again with one of my mysteries.
I bought this sweet little brooch this week online and it came from France. There were only two very blurry pictures but I still fell in love with it.
It was only 5€ so didn't break the bank.
When I cleaned it up I could see some marks: I see 2x 800 and one mark that looks like a monogram AG with a small R beneath.
There is also one mark I cant read on the c-clasp.
The 800 silver makes me think it might be German, although I found a similar looking brooch online and the seller stated it to be art nouveau, Norway and designer Magnus Aase.
But that maker is not correct in my opinion.
I do think this brooch was made around 1900 or a bit earlier but I have no idea what country it could be from or who is the maker.
Can someone shine a light on this cute mystery?

Sweet! But ignore how sellers list pieces like this as, it is in no way Art Nouveau :)

Oh my, AJ, you are right! The brooch you bought a few years ago looks like it was made by the same maker. Big brother to my tiny brooch.
Seems like I get drawn to German jewelry these days.:D

Ca 1900. They copied late 19th century Norwegian sølje brooches.

This sweet brooch is not Danish, it is almost certainly German, the Albertus mark shown is not the same as on this piece, and despite the Etsy seller's imaginative description of traditional Norwegian bunadsølv produced by a Dane at a firm known for their original designs, in a fineness lower than the Danish minimum .826 (later .830) standard, and their adding a non-existent 'S' to the pictured '800' - it has nothing to do with Georg Jensen, or Albertus and his 'GA' mark, sometimes added to his designs from 1926-54 (he started as just a chaser at Jensen in 1911).

The seller had a matching pendant for sale so I had to buy it. :cat:
It was only when it got here today that I realized its not exactly matching!:hilarious:
Oh well, close enough for me.
The pendant is also marked 800 but the other mark is something I can't decipher.
