When I was a little, very little, girl my godfather bought me and American Flyer train set that you would put smoke pellets in the smoke stack. It was the old fashioned western kind with a cow catcher. That had to be around 1960. It was really my dad's and uncle's train. It was in the original box with the all the original pieces with the transformer. It worked. He wouldn't let me take it with me when I left home. He should have, because my brother broke it.

i contacted the (BAC/LAC) Library and Archives Canada to see if there was any painting forgers ever in Canada this is what he told me .
Thank you for your inquiry to Library and Archives Canada regarding records of a master painter/forger that faked Picasso paintings in Canada, within the last 80 years. Unfortunately, I was unable to locate any records about fake Picasso paintings in Canada. I searched for this information in newspaper articles, as it is likely that Picasso forgeries would have been reported in the news. Specifically, I searched the Globe and Mail and Toronto Star, as we have a database that contains issues of both these newspapers dating back to the 19th century. Unfortunately, I could not locate any articles about a master painter or forger in Canada that forged Picasso’s paintings. I was only able to retrieve articles about Picasso forgeries that occurred elsewhere in the world, mainly in Europe.


In addition to newspapers, I also searched our published collection for any books written about Art Forgeries in Canada and Picasso forgeries more generally, but there were no items on either topic in our collection. I recommend that you contact a library at an Art Gallery or Museum, as they specialize in the visual arts and are more likely to have publications or documents about Art Forgery in Canada. Here are the names and links to contact information for several Canadian Art Gallery and Museum Libraries that I recommend.

We never had the boxes, but did have similar trains. My late dad was a rail nut. He inherited his cousins' trains, including some American Flyer. Mom sold them off, but I remember those smoke pellets.

 

i love train sets also not so much the real thing lol almost was killed hopping them when i was younger at the very least i would have lost a hand
i own about 5 trains sets and lots of track ones clock work and puffs smoke without adding anything some stuff to build a display one day . I also love well like a lot lol slot race cars 1/32 1/64

 

8 months ago a friend needed some cash so he left a stereograph and 9 slides Underwood and Underwood) was missing 1 nail so i put a small screw in works good now, a 10 dollar gold coin ,and a autographed 54-40 guitar ( i contacted them and they said yes it is authentic and he remembered it , it was about 25 years ago they signed it he said ) for a loan of $600 , he hasn't come back and now i own them , a couple good 3d slides , theodore roosevelt 1903 , queen victoria jubilee 1837 to 1897

 

Photos to follow, but at an auction yesterday I finally bought a Caithness luckenbooth brooch and a USSR Sputnik tea glass and holder. Well pleased.

 

My OH us currently feeling grateful that all I come home with are a few bits of jewellery and the odd bit of random old junk!

 

Few bits, the brooches were all £1 each. Cuff links silvertone metal but the bangle is 9ct gold, these two cost me 70pence. The tigers eye necklace was £1.50, I thought the clasp was gold but alas only GF.

check for marks on those native feather earrings....
tons are commercial......but some are hand made...
