This would not be for resale as it has a repaired leg. I only have two photos and I need to know quickly, as it is on the shelf. I couldn't find the maker.

Handgemalt means handmade in Germany, so Germany is a likely country of origin. I don't recognize the mark. It's probably a 1950s/60s figurine of I would say middling quality -- you know, decorative purposes only, but it is a cute vintage piece. If you like it, then buy it, but hopefully there's a little haggle room on the price. ;)

Perfect. I only wanted it if it was an antique Thanks so much for getting back quickly.

I did find the mark, Rudolf Heinz & Co from Rontgen's book.

This has not quite reached antique status as that threshold is at least 100 years old. This would be considered a "vintage" piece.:happy::happy:

The coloring is a little off for a schnauzer. Are you collecting schnauzer figurines? I have several myself. I have also had three schnauzers as pets and adored them all. When the last passed I moved onto dogs who needed a rehome and have the Yorkie in my ID photo now. I'd consider another dog but I don't think Bear would tolerate it (the spoiled little monster)! :hilarious:

I was only interested in it as an antique figurine, not because of the subject matter. I considered getting a dog, when I retired. Like a golden retriever. I then realized that retirement for me was not to have plenty of time to commit to walking, brushing, bathing, playing with and loving up a dog. I am busy all the time. My two cats are self cleaning, self feeding, don't have to be walked and dispose of their waste in a convenient spot - all I have to do is the playing and loving part. Comparatively easy.
    Bear is very cute.
