Here's one for Kyra & all bug artists-Victorian Eastlake Silver

Here's a piece for all Bug Artists including the amazing Kyra.It's a silver plate Meridien Victorian Wine Suitcase.It's hinged & is velvet lined.I posted it earlier but thought it deserved an encore for all bug lovers & bug artists.
PS-Maybe I'll polish it,kind like it gnarly though.

 

That's Aesthetic period aka Japonesque, not Eastlake design. Can you open it up to show the interior, please? I have never heard of a "wine suitcase."

Meriden, not Meridien too.

I would have thought Japanese if you had not mentioned the mark - and would you show us that too, please?

I'll get some more Pics for everybody.This was the first piece I ever bought on Ebay-$30.00.Wish I would've shopped it more back in the early days.
PS-I guess they used it for Picnics & Parties perhaps when coaching.
1st-Bottom Stamp/2nd-Back Hinge/3rd-Hook Chain Latch to secure case/4th-Opened w/ orig cushioning felt.
