Makers Mark On Pendant?

    Is this a makers mark on the back of this pendant? It appears to read SOS. Does anyone know what this stands for? Thank you!

    Lisa, It looks to me like "585" (especially if you turn the pic. upside-down) ... have you tested this piece for gold content? 585 = 14K


    P.S. .... It's a pretty little thing :)

    IMG_7954small.jpg IMG_7956small.jpg From what I know it's an antique piece, tests positive for 14k gold, natural pearls and Australian fire opal. It has a hole in the bottom where it appears something was hanging but the gold piece has broken. Let me post a pic of that. I am going to take a better look at the mark using the magnifier and see if it's possibly an "&". If I can get a better picture I will post. Thanks All!

    After closer look the middle letter actually appears to be an 8. So I think you are right Quirkygirl; it appears to read "585". Thank you!!! :)
