Query: have a chance to get 2 Wallendorf porcelain ballerinas for probably $20 - $25. Looks like they sell on eBay for $80 - $100, at least the models I'm looking at. One, however is missing some fingers on one hand, the other is OK. Wondering if it's worth the effort. And I don't like buying damaged stuff, but it seems churlish to ask for just the one... I sound so excited, don't I? LOL!

Wendy, I'm always excited when I think I have something that's valuable or at least considered desirable!

I'll keep you posted as to whether I get them or not. Considering how I'm supposed to be getting rid of stuff, likely not...:(

Oh, I totally understand. That's why I try not to shop anywhere anymore... have way too many things already.

But it sure gets tempting sometimes, especially when I start looking for comps on eBay and see stuff I really like at good prices...

Well, this is on a local site and usually it's just other people's dross, but the seller doesn't know what they are...small sleeper.

Not antiques, but a book bought at a car boot sale on Sunday for 40 pence sold yesterday for 44 pounds on Amazon. Not a bad profit margin. ;)

Brought home a Naugahyde Nauga Monster yesterday. He's from about the 1960s I think.

He looks like the abominable snowman off that christmas special from the 60s. The island of misfit toys, the elf who wanted to be a dentist, etc, etc.

Love the Nauga! Seeing him makes me wonder whether he was a predecessor of the "ugly dolls."
