incised dragon plate with Kangxi mark, does it look of the period?

    Well, I like it because it's such a lovely yellow. Wow, no wear on the base whatsoever!

    yeah but it is odd that the characters are directly on the yellow instead of inside a circle?

    Love the color to:confused:ne thing Ive learned watching BBC Roadshow is the fact that something can be 200 years old and look brand new !

    I am still learning, but I am not convinced that this is old. The imprecise method of the glaze applications seems much too shoddy for an antique piece. Whereas the 6 characters are applied so very precisely, but the rest of the glaze application doesn't seem high quality at all to me. There is a complete lack of wear on the bottom that doesn't fit into an antique scenario either. Is there a name for this clouded and messy type of imprecise glaze application?

    Yes I would eat out of it too, though that could put some wear on it. :)

    This is true, but the base rim and the crispness of the mark makes me think newer, but I could be wrong. It is a nice piece regardless.
