Sorry rro I'm so slow sometimes....
Thank you CX it has a unpolished pontil and unsigned, don't they reproduce a lot of this kind of art glass?

I love all the goodies everyone found! This happens to be my favorite thread!

Thanks Sharona, I posted questions about the charger on the other board, now I'm more confused than ever!
I think I will start a thread here and see what I can learn about it! Not sure if it is old, new, trash, treasure!

I don't know a thing about it except I like it! I have always admired your finds too. I remember that fancy gold pocket watch and other things, good shopper/picker:happy:
Maybe try the glass board here.....

    Tonettedogs,

Your charger is Japanese, Arita, probably Meiji (1868 - 1912) Period, with imitation Chinese Ming (Da Ming Cheng Hua Nian Zhi) Period marks written on base.

The Japanese often imitated Chinese marks as these marks were more appealing to Western buyers of that era.

Thank You Sharona! When I saw it, I just couldn't leave it there!

Nuff, Thank You so much for that info! I was hoping you would take a look and give me your thoughts! I had a feeling it wasn't a new piece. It seemed to have some age.
Is this type of design Imari? Would EBAY be the place to sell?

    You're welcome.

If I'm not mistaken, yes, Imari.

I don't see why eBay wouldn't be a proper venue for this item. Not sure of the value, or what the cost will be to ship something of this size domestic or overseas.

Somehow I knew you wouldn't be able to stay away.

Thank you again, Nuff! You helped clarify some questions for me. I would think shipping domestic or overseas would be a challenge!

Somehow I knew, you knew, I wouldn't go stay away. ;)

Anyway, this thread isn't about you or I, staying or going, it's about Finds. And if you have any to share, we all would love to see and hear about them.

I don't go looking anymore. The only thing I want to "find" out is if my cancer is
cured. Gives one a whole new perspective on life.

I sincerely hope that one -- cure -- is found as well.

I think it's a cute money box with a twist on "a penny saved is a penny earned." The slot looks like it's for coins, not seeds. BWDIK? It's cute!

Thanks bakersgma :) It is much nicer than most painted gourds and looks better in hand, these photos don't do it justice. It is also good sized at 10" tall.
kentworld, you are most likely correct as it being a coin bank and just a play on words. It is signed MB, I'm pretty sure this is just a hobbyist's fairly recent work. But nicely done with the wood burned banner and all, and with some better photos it should do well.
