    Says Remove for rocket on.
I'm guessing a plug for a rocket motor on a rocket.
    Anyone know for sure?
Its brass 3" long and 1 1/4" wide here is the size.

Gun show tomorrow so I'll take one with me if cant identify by then.
    Thanks in advance.

I saw your other post where you have the red pieces from a locker that had military items in it. Did you find these in the same locker?

If so, it could be a shipping cap/retainer for an artillery rocket. "REMOVE FOR ROCKET ON" seems like military speak, as well.

The tips of the artillery rockets have fuzes (no typo) that have detonators in them. There would be some sort of cap to prevent accidental detonation during storage and travel.

By the looks of it, it is reverse threaded, too.

Yes looks like someone's collection that spanned a bit of time.
M14 magazine, m1 garand ammo belts USMC first aid kit, USMC utensils etc.

Does have left hand threads with a black rubber type gasket.
Could very well be a Cap for a rocket propelled grenade?

I'll stick with my original hunch. Brass would be used so as not to cause a spark, and the gasket would keep particles and moisture from entering the component.

I'm not an expert in this, so wait for other military people to come along...

My DAD was in Vietnam Nam and recognized some of the contents.
I googled for a few hours, but no dice.
Some of the stuff was EASY :p

I found the a fuze tip at an estate sale a while back that looked like the green piece below. Took me a little bit to find out what it was.
