Got this light out of a barn sale.

any help on its use? Was it street light or used in homes?

I want to guess early 20th century, but anybody who has any info please let me know!

Doesn't look like any of the antique lamps I've seen before (they're all much more ornate)

    Thanks! 20150615_105626.jpg

Meant to go outside a house on a pole, I suspect. Those sell amazingly well here.

Thanks. Would you suggest restoring it or sell as is?

I would have to send it to professional restorers, definitely not my speciality.

If in doubt, sell it as is. Some people like them distressed - actually, most do, I think.

Probably between the two wars. It'll end up in a fancy apartment. ;)

I don't know that it has that much of a value. If I really wanted it to use...I would have it stripped and powder coated.
On my former farmhouse site I would've left it alone but on a house, in town probably, fixed er up.
I like stuff with age and stories to tell. :)

    I like the story, too.

In London, rewired it'd prolly be 100 to 150 dollars, may be a bit more. Mad, innit. ;)

Speaking of value, I paid like 10USD. How much could I think of asking. I will adjust downwards as most items sell cheaper here than in the US...

It's quite big and heavy, so want to try to get rid of it quickly ;-)

p.s. The most valuable thing is probably the glass so be extra careful for it is likely irreplaceable.

Hi! It isn't and I don't know why, in general, people don't fill that out. :)
