    Hey guys

I recently bought a couple of old jewellery boxes and inside one of them was 2 items of jewellery (please see pics). The first I am sure is a tie pin? The second piece is a bracelet. I have come across similar pieces that are no more than ‘trash’, although this piece does strike me as being somewhat old in comparison. It may well be nothing more than trash, but I thought I’d get an expert opinion on this ‘just incase’ As I have pretty much limited to zero experience with jewellery. Any advice appreciated

Would have gone through holes in collar & kept it snugged up. Collar bar or pin? Must be a term.

Those collar bars were so the thing in the 80s. Bracelet is very pretty, but I don't think of any great value. It almost looks artisan if it were not for that foldover clasp.

The bracelet is Mexican souvenir ware. Costume and no great value. I've been known to make necklaces out of those collar bars - one end unscrews and you can thread charms or whatever over the bar. I don't think anyone uses them on spread collars any more.

    Hi,
The only reason they are not used any more is the newer shirts do not have the tiny holes to insert the collar pins. I have three or four from the 1960s. Mine are just straight bars no chains. They really held the skinny ties in place.
