I have this atwater kent model H speaker that was from my late fathers radio collection.
It's intact with voice coil too. I believe it's from 1925ish and I was wondering if it has some value.
I googled it and found a couple that without the voice coil going for $200ish.
This one is in pretty good condition compared to the ones on the net.
    Any info is appreciated.

Not that eBay is the be-all, end-all, in terms of prices, but here are recent sold listings for similar speakers (sorted descending high to low):

A friend of mine has this "nice" Stewart Warner dancing ladies model 925 speaker in original condition.
It has the voice coil and it's very heavy but I didn't test the coil for resistance.
Nice eye candy if nothing else. Can't see much demand for these old speakers.

It should do very well on ebay, if you plan to sell it online.

But then I have to pay taxes on 100% of value not to mention fees. Don't have paypal either. Craigslist might be better.

Perhaps, I use CL too, but think you can get much much more from ebay.

I read that the $600 federal income amount will not be used for 2022. Doubt you will get that much for this, but it would be good to have an online venue where it can be seen by many collectors.

The fees are not included in the ebay declared amount, but the shipping cost is. That and your gas to get to the post office, plus original cost, storage costs and other personal biz costs will all offset the amount on the 1099, which would have been anything OVER $600. The accounting has been minimal for me, I spent an hour to teach myself how to make a spreadsheet. I found the program to make it in was already in my computer.

Personally, I had stuff to sell in 2022, so I decided to ignore the $600 limit, sold, planned to file and pay my taxes on the income, and just sell online wherever I wanted and whatever I could. Glad I did. I encouraged everyone to do this, my CPA husband (RIP) told me it's a GOOD THING to have to pay taxes because it means you are making money. He was right too!

I don't have a pp acct anymore either. I canceled mine recently due to politics. Ebay no longer owns pp, they no longer require you use pp. I haven't yet needed to make another pp account.

Hope this helps. I used CL for many years, but with phone scammers on the loose, not sure I want to continue that.

I recently read of a phone scam where someone asks you to text them back a code number so "they can see that it's really you" and THAT'S A SCAM to get into one of your accounts!

So, not sure I want to continue using CL. We shall see what this new year brings! :)
Best wishes to you and to yours for your continued sales.

When it comes to CL, I always meet in person and pay cash. I've only had great experiences buying and selling there over the past 15 years while following this approach.

Years later, I even still keep in touch with a couple people I met through CL.

Likewise. If you’re smart about it, it can be great. I use FB marketplace more now but no issue with CL if you use common sense.

Same. Never a bad experience. I'm just not sure what the future will bring. Nothing in life is guaranteed <3 :)

I’ll say the one reason I really would say FBMP is a better bet is you can click people’s profiles and see if they look legit. Not that it can’t be faked but you can usually tell if they are. CL requires a bigger leap of faith. I also assume FBMP has way more users at this point. Could be wrong there, just an assumption.
