the town has a rich history..... I lived there for 6 weeks in 79 I think it was...
I walked the town from end to end and was never bored with the architecture ...

The only shops you'd find me in in the early 70s were head shops.

I LOVE @evelyb30 leg! It would go well with my prosthetic eye brooch:joyful::cyclops:

And my snake with human eye bangle.
And I seem to remember evelyb already has eye cuff links. She is prepared for all eventualities.:playful:

Ok barn, one of those threads that went off the rails at an alarming speed.:D

I've been searching for eye jewelry (and prosthetic eyes in general), so I welcome the discussion, haha

Or LIKE! I'd wear it :)

Woven chain is a good sign - if you like it, that makes it special, sterling NA or not...

Another reason to use chain is that the design means whatever is used to string the beads shows through in places:

I saw 'the leg' but please do show your eye for those of us who missed this delight the first time round?!

I, ahem, alas don't have those eye cuff links. The cheap sterling "evil eye" bead bracelets show up with some regularity.

As for the original subject of this meandering thread ... dunno. I've seen the same clasp on modern Indian costume jewelry, as in subcontinent. That doesn't mean some Native silversmith didn't get her/his hands on some and figure they were a good idea.

Not as realistic, but a bit more eery, my snake bangle with human eye:
