You have to ask: Was Louis XIV sold a bill of goods?

So, this is nice. Late 19th into early 20th, unmarked but I bet silver, with good stones. Needs a clean. Eight dollars equivalent. ;)

I'm not sure. The stones aren't typical: I'm thinking more Bohemia maybe. Garnet, topaz and citrine, I suspect. Having said that, the bloke I bought it from gets lots of Persian and Afghan stuff, so hey. It doesn't have the look of that area though.

    My finds for today.
Church thrift sale, cookie decorator thingy in box with manual. Just happened to drive by it coming back from a terrible yard sale.

Estate sale - NOS sheets in Plastic plus some 60's Christmas ornies. Nicest retired vet who told me to have fun while looking thru the house.

Other thrift store near me on the way back, fill a bag for $5 of cook books. And I did, I don't even remember now which ones I bought but the bag weighed more than me.I love fill a bag sales.

And the sun was out and it was warm. Challah -lujah.

I am so thrilled. A signed, Carl Radke, Aurene, Gold Feather, Wrapped Glass Vase was lost amongst a designer clothes, purses, jewelry and shoes sale today at my favorite resale shop. I've always wanted one of these but the named glass artists always sell for more than I want to pay. I took one picture in the shade to show how it reflects the light. It is small at 8 inches. It was $25.

Thank you. Radke was one of those guys who tried to replicate Tiffany Lustre Art Glass. I sent an email to him to see if this was one of those earlier pieces.

Carl Radke responded that it came from his Harmony California Studio that was open from 1986 to 2006.

BOOM! BINGO! I'm betting the artist was quite pleased you rescued that.

I'm completely enamored with this kind of glass work, but all I ever had before was a couple of paperweights. Down the street they sell Lundberg Studio vases for more than $500 for a small one. I oh and ah at them whenever I go to see their stuff. Now I have one of my own. Maybe not in the modern style these artists have taken their work, but it makes me happy just the same.
